The Colorado National Monument is located at the Northeast corner of the Uncompaghre Plateau which falls within the geologic region of the Colorado Plateau. Wingate Sandstone dominates the dramatic geology of "the Monument". Hiking trails allow access to sheer walled canyons, sandstone monoliths, and numerous spires. Images captured utilize long shadows, tremendous contrast, and the rich colors of these canyons and spires.
